Sun Microsystems Exceeds Profit Target
Reports Results for Fourth Quarter and Full Fiscal Year 2007

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – July 30, 2007 – Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW) reported results today for its fourth quarter and full fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2007, exceeding its operating margin target, improving gross margin and delivering another sequential quarter of profit.

Revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 were $3.835 billion. For the full fiscal year, the Company reported revenues of $13.873 billion, an increase of 6.2 percent over fiscal year 2006. Total gross margin as a percent of revenues for the fourth quarter was 47.2 percent, and gross margin for the full fiscal year was 45.2 percent, an increase of 2.1 percentage points over fiscal year 2006. Operating margin for the fourth quarter was 8.5 percent.

Net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 on a GAAP basis was $329 million, or $0.09 per share on a diluted basis. For the full fiscal year, net income was $473 million, or $0.13 per share, on a diluted basis, as compared with a net loss of $864 million, or ($0.25) per share, for fiscal 2006.

Cash generated from operations for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 was $564 million, and cash and marketable debt securities balance at the end of the quarter was approximately $5.9 billion.

“With a solid strategy and consistent execution, we delivered on our commitment to achieve at least 4 percent operating margin in the fourth quarter. This milestone marks significant progress toward our longer-term growth plan of at least 10 percent operating margin for the full fiscal year 2009,” said Jonathan Schwartz, president and CEO of Sun Microsystems. “The Solaris 10 Operating System continues to fuel opportunity for us and our partners, allowing customers to leverage built-in virtualization to harvest more value from their datacenters, without the unnecessary expense of separate software licenses.”

Sun has scheduled a conference call today to discuss its financial results for the fourth quarter fiscal year 2007 at 1:30 p.m. (PT), which is being broadcast live at www.sun.com/investors.

Unix-Center.Net的存储服务器自2007年7 月22日起正式投入使用。存储服务器投入使用后,本站所有服务器均使用统一的存储系统,用户无需将同一份数据重复上载到不同的服务器上。在2007年7 月22日之前单独存放在T1000/Solaris系统上的用户数据,在此次系统升级中统一迁移到用户家目录的t1000子目录下。

此外,所有注册用户的磁盘配额统一调整为100 MB(在此之前所有注册用户的磁盘配额为20 MB)。

香格里拉杂记 — 属都湖

属都湖位于普达措国家森林公园,海拔3700米。属都湖一词为藏语音译而来,意思是用木棍捉鱼的地方。

尽 管杜鹃盛开的季节已经过去,这里仍然是花的海洋。我不由得惊叹于自己的浅薄与无知了 — 这么多好看的花儿草儿,竟然没有一样叫得上名字来。往右,在那水的尽头,隐隐约约的活动着一群黑白相间的绵羊。湖心处吱吱喳喳的传来两只稚鸭的嬉戏声,跳 下栈道打算走到湖边去仔细瞧瞧,一下子被鞋底下奔涌而出的泥浆吓了一跳 — 原来那灿烂的花花草草下面仅是酥烂的沼泽,不小心的话可是会陷下去的。

说什么风景如画?那画儿,就算是再漂亮一千倍一万倍,又怎么比得上这风景的万分之一呢?

这两个藏民家的孩子像两只精力过剩的小兽,在我们的身边不停地追打、跳跃,在满是牛粪的草地上翻滚。他们那黝黑的肤色,不由得让我想起童年时玩耍过的草坡和稻田。我和咪咪商量着,让清扬婉兮也跟着去玩。小人怯生生地学着翻了几个跟头,却又不得要领,就蹲在那里看着。

从 香格里拉县城出来的时候,买了一些葡萄。两个藏族小孩看见了,两眼发光直盯着葡萄转 — 香格里拉海拔高,基本上不产水果和青菜,就是我们买来的这点葡萄,也是商家从丽江运来的,藏民家的经济条件也比较差,所以孩子很少有吃水果的机会。咪咪看 见了,就把一串葡萄送给他们吃。他们拿到了葡萄,就直接放在那满是牛粪的草地上,然后小牛小羊一般低下头去吃,小黑嘴边沾满了枯草和牛粪。没两分钟,一串 葡萄就一扫而光,两个小孩把目光移向我们袋子里仅剩下的另外一串。我把这一串也递给他们,两个人又如秋风扫落叶般在最短的时间内结束战斗。看着我们的袋子 里再也没有其他吃了,两个小孩就勾勾地看着我们,傻傻地笑了。

小羊小羊你别怕,让我跟你拍着照片。我会轻轻的拉着你,不会弄疼的。

这 是我最喜欢的照片之一。清澈的湖水,葱葱郁郁的云杉,若隐若现的野花,还有那蜿蜒曲折的栈道。在海拔3700米的高原上,稍微的有一点呼吸不甚顺畅的感 觉。我们牢记香格里拉功略的教诲,缓缓前行,以避免由于心跳加速引起的高原反应。我们家可爱无敌的清扬婉兮手拄一根小木棍,硬是坚持走完了这长达2.7公 里的栈道。

我想把这张照片叫做《赶路》。

香格里拉杂记 — 纳帕海

在 纳帕海我们并没有看见海,而是看见了一片生机盎然的草原,以及悠然自得地吃草和撒欢的牦牛、绵羊和小猪。牵马的藏族小姑娘告诉我们说纳帕海是一个季节性的 湖泊。它四面环山,每年雨季的时候雨水汇聚到这里,就形成了湖泊。雨季过后湖水就慢慢的消退,肥沃的湖床上生长出各种各样的野花和野草来,便成了一处绝佳 的高原牧场。我们骑上马儿,在藏族小姑娘的引领下的引领下缓缓地向草原的深处走去,引来一只又一只小牦牛好奇的目光。大牦牛们则根本就不屑于转过头来看我 们一眼 — 像我们这样的游客,它们早已经见的太多了。



我 惊诧于这满地的野花。在我的记忆中,除了在洛杉矶的Antelop Valley Poppy Reserve从来都没有见过如此密集的野花。然而即使是在Antelop Valley那野花也仅仅局限于一个有限的范围,但是在纳帕海那淡淡的黄色简直是铺天盖地了,一直延伸到那地的尽头。更惹人喜欢的,是那些红的、黑的、白 的、会到处乱走的牛羊和猪,是它们让我们觉得这个世界充满了生气。



这只小牦牛站在一丛粗壮的黄色野花上面,用一种很无辜的眼神看着我们。牵马的藏族小姑娘告诉我们,这只小牦牛看起来还没有一个月大。很显然它对我们的来访充满了好奇和戒意。



我们试图去摸摸它,但是他很快就往后退去了。他的爸爸还是妈妈及时地赶来:我们走,不要理他们!



哼哼!不许碰我们家宝贝娃娃!



哈哈,顶牛耶!
不过周围的牛儿似乎对顶牛早就司空见惯了,没有什么牛儿跑过来围观。



下雨了。清扬婉兮穿上了雨衣,还是舍不得摘下藏族小姑娘给编织的花环。花环是用摘来的格桑花做的,那可是藏民的吉祥花呢。不过我们还听说格桑花又叫做小狼毒,还叫断肠草,草原上出现大量的小狼毒是草原退化的标志。

吃完早饭,就要和咪咪还有清扬婉兮一起飞往香格里拉了。回程的票还没有买,估计十三号前后回来。

计 划前往的地点:纳帕海,碧沽天池,千湖山,白水台,松赞林寺,雨崩,梅里雪山,明永冰川。最终要到那个地方去,还得等到了香格里拉或者德钦再作安排,反正 我们有十天的时间。根据查到的资料,香格里拉一带的海拔还属于普通人可以接受的范围,但是德钦地区还是颇有挑战性的。清扬婉兮目前仅有两岁七个月,不知道 去了那里是否会受不了 -- 当然了,我们一家三口到底是谁会发生高原反应还说不好呢。

极度期待那满山的油菜花和杜鹃花,清澈见底的天池,还有悦榕庄的美食和SPA。:-)
